New Canaan to hold Veterans Day ceremony Nov. 11

New Canaan will honor veterans at 10:55 a.m. on Nov. 11 on God's Acre with a call to assembly played on the bugle by Don Gels.

Commander Peter Langenus will salute the flag and recite the pledge of allegiance. Langenus is a partner at Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP, and served in Vietnam in 1969 and 1970. First Selectman Robert Mallozzi will offer brief remarks before the main speaker, resident Julie Butler, delivers the keynote speech of the morning. Butler's eldest son, Blake Flannery, is a staff sergeant in the United States Marine Corps.

A reception following the event will take place at the Outback Teen Center, 71 Main St.
