A New Canaan man is facing multiple felony charges after a 15-year-old girl told police he sexually assaulted her.
Police charged Isaiah Maisonette of Lakeview Avenue with second-degree sexual assault, risk of injury to a minor and delivery of alcohol to a minor, after he turned himself in to police Saturday, Oct. 6.
The complainant, also of New Canaan, told police Maisonette sexually assaulted her at 5:06 a.m. on Aug. 6.
According to the Connecticut General Statute, second-degree sexual assault occurs when someone "engages in sexual intercourse with another person and: (1) Such other person is 13 years of age or older, but under 16 years of age, and the actor is more than two years older than such person."
Second-degree sexual assault is considered a Class B felony if the victim is under 16.
According to state statute, "any person found guilty under this section shall be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of which nine months of the sentence imposed may not be suspended or reduced by the court."
Maisonette was released on $100,000 bond. His court date is Oct. 19.
