The New Canaan varsity boys squash team is off to a strong start this season with consecutive wins against Bronxville High School, Rye High School, Greens Farms Academy, Fairfield High School Darien High School and St. Luke's School.

Most recently on Dec. 18, the Varsity A team faced off against Fairfield High School at Chelsea Piers, winning soundly in a sweep of all seven matches. Killian Bubrosky (No.1) defeated Graham Bonnell 3-0, Grayson Bubrosky (No.2) defeated Graham Browne 3-1, Hal Holappa (No. 3) beat Ethan King, Christian Megherby (No. 4) defeated John Carey 3-0, Andreas Kjekstad (No. 5) defeated Jason Fromme 3-0 and Kyle Finnican (No. 6) and Sam Havens (No. 7) each won their matches 3-0.

The Varsity B team triumphed Darien's JV A team 5-2. Teddy Holappa (No. 2) had a win against Robert Clasby, 11-8, 8-11, 11-4, 11-5. Henry Greer (No. 1) played a highly competitive match against Jack O'Shea but ultimately lost the battle 11-13, 5-11, 8-11, 11-1, 8-11. Eric Burns (No. 3) faced Alex Cohen in a tight match but lost 8-11, 6-11, 8-11. Charlie Kallassy, (No. 6) and Sean Berry (No. 7) had straight game wins of 3-0 over their opponents. J.P. Sloan (No. 4) played Will Granath and won 3-2

January and February will be very busy for the team with games coming up against Darien High School (Jan. 8), Rye High School (Jan. 22), St. Luke's School (Jan. 25), Greenwich High School (Jan 29) and Bronxville High School (Feb. 5).

New Canaan will travel to the US High School Team Squash Championships in Philadelphia on Feb. 7-9.
