The New Canaan Red seventh grade football team visited Ridgefield Saturday night and was shut out 15-0.

As has usually been the case this season, the defense did its job and stopped a Ridgefield drive when Cole Kammerer recovered a fumble on New Canaan's five-yard line.

New Canaan's offense struggled and a bad snap out of the shotgun eluded quarterback Logan Otis for a safety and at 2-0 Ridgefield lead.

Ridgefield's running game was effective and led to its first touchdown in the second quarter, increasing Ridgefield's lead to 8-0.

New Canaan's defense of Grant Morse, Sam Gilman, Kyle Karr, Justin Greco, Zach Lopez and Seamus O'Hora continued to hold Ridgefield's powerful runners in the second half.
