Village Critter Outfitter will be hosting two events over the next few days at its 107 Cherry St. location.

A cat adoption for Community Cats takes place from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 23. Community Cats is a nonprofit organization dedicated to caring for homeless cats through trap-neuter-return practices and basic veterinary services to diminish the growing stray cat population. The team also provides shelters and adoption opportunities in efforts to reach out to others in the community.

"We're excited to partner with Community Cats to lead these cats from abandonment on the streets to a loving home," said Shirleen Dubuque, owner of Village Critter Outfitter. "Whether it's neutering feral cats, providing health services, or finding homes for cats, Community Cats has already contributed so much to ensuring a multitude of cats' well-being."

From 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26, pet owners are invited to learn how to ensure their pet's future health and wellness when Janette Alvarez, owner of and veterinarian at Animal Wellness Veterinary in Norwalk, will share her more than 19 years of expertise.

Alvarez will address senior and specialty pet diets to combat the common disorders of kidney and heart disease, diabetes and hyperthyroidism.

"As a trusted veterinarian managing a clinic specialized in prolonging pets' health, Dr. Alvarez has a wealth of valuable advice to offer pets," Dubuque said. "She recognizes that every pet is unique, with individual needs and care."

Seating is limited, so reservations are recommended.
