Max Pacioretty, a New Canaan native who plays for the Montreal Canadiens, has been suspended for three games by the NHL for his hit on Pittsburgh defenseman Kris Letang during Saturday night's contest in Montreal, a 4-3 overtime win for the Penguins. No penalty was accessed on the play, but Letang suffered a broken nose.
Pacioretty is eligible to return to action on December 6, a home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets. In 24 games this season, Pacioretty has scored a team-high 10 goals and has racked up 19 points.
