New Canaan's Milunovich captures 14-year-old division in Massachusetts

New Canaan's Lexi Milunovich won the 14-year-old division at the United States Tennis Association New England junior sectional championships held at UMass in Amherst, MA from June 23-28.

Milunovich, the No. 1 seed, beat third-seeded Maria Mateas of Braintree, MA in the championship match. Milunovich is ranked first in her division in New England and will be recognized with the other sectional winners in conjunction with the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships (pro tennis event) on Tuesday, July 10 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI.

Milunovich and her partner, Mercedes Hammond of Belgrade, ME, won the girls 16 USTA sectional doubles. Milunovich has won the 12s and 14s singles and the 12s, 14s and 16s doubles sectional championships.
