On Saturday, Sept. 14, New Canaan's Mead Park will play host to the 10th Annual Allan Jay Jr. Memorial Tennis Tournament.
There will be a championship draw, which features some of the best local players and tennis pros (who are no longer in college) and a recreational draw for average club players.
If needed, a "B" draw will be added. The Rec & B draws will be subdivided according to their make-up: There will be sections for men, women, mixed, husband and wife, and parent and child. All are welcome.
Participants will all receive tennis balls, light breakfast, lunch, drinks, adult beverages, live music and a minimum of three matches.
Allan Jay was an avid player and a model citizen. This tournament has become New Canaan's largest tennis event, and plays in front of well over 100 spectators.
