St. Luke's senior Brett Connors helped lead the 18U Elite Team Connecticut to the Triple Crown United States Baseball Championship in Richmond, Va. over the weekend.

Team Connecticut went 6-1 in tournament play by beating teams from Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Virginia. They capped off the run with a 13-3 victory over the South Carolina Diamondcats on Saturday afternoon in the title game.

Connors, the starting third baseman, helped lead his team to the championship by hitting .417 with a homerun, two triples and three stolen bases in the tournament. For his efforts, Connors was honored with the Silver Bat Award as the U.S. Baseball Championship Tournament's best hitter. Connors is currently exploring opportunities to play baseball at several Division-I colleges.
