The Independence Day forecast for southwestern Connecticut should rebound from yesterday's gray, drizzling weather, according to the National Weather Service.

Even though the NWS says there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m. today, skies otherwise are expected to be mostly sunny. The daytime high temperature is expected to be about 85 degrees, with a west wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 65.

Tomorrow should be sunny, with a high near 79 degrees, with a northwest wind between 5 and 8 mph. Tomorrow night should be mostly clear, with a low around 67.

On Wednesday, the forecast calls for mostly sunny skies, with a high near 85 degrees.

By Wednesday night, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, the weather service predicts, as the temperature dips to the low-70s.
