New Canaan residents contribute to success of Darien YMCA gymnastics team

Four New Canaan residents of the Darien YMCA gymnastics team competed at the YMCA State Tournament over the weekend in Southington.

In the 10-11 age group for Level 6, Kaitlyn Moussignac finished first in the all-around competition, scoring 36.1. Moussignac also won the vault and bars titles with scores of 9.2 and 9.4, respectively.

Charlotte Frank finished second in the all-around competition, scoring 38.1 in the 9-year-old junior group for Level 4. Frank also won the beam and floor individual titles, scoring 9.4 and 9.85, respectively.

Holly McGoldrick finished third in the all-around competition, scoring 37.3 in the 9-year-old senior group for Level 4. Individually, McGoldrick tied for first place on bars, scoring 9.65 and came in second place on beam with a 9.45.

In the 11-year-old age group for Level 4, Kate Reeves finished third in the all-around competition by scoring 36.875. Reeves also placed third in the beam and floor individual titles by scoring 9.15 and 9.275, respectively.

As a team Darien came in first place for Level 6 and second place for Level 4.
