Elliot L. Maynes, 21, of 283 Buttery Road, was charged with first-degree possession of child pornography, a Class B felony, after turning himself in to police on a warrant Tuesday, July 17.

Police said the investigation began July 10, when a technician at P.C. Richards and Sons found images of child pornography on Maynes' laptop computer while performing repair work.

A search and seizure warrant was obtained for the computer and a forensic analysis found more than 50 images on the computer, according to the report.

Maynes was released on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at state Superior Court in Norwalk July 27 at 10 a.m.
