New Canaan police commissioner to address volunteerism

New Canaan resident James Cole will address the Senior Men's Club of New Canaan in Morrill Hall at St. Mark's Church on Friday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m.

As past director of Emergency Preparedness for New Canaan and the current chairman of the New Canaan Police Commission, Cole will discuss volunteerism. He is a 21-year veteran of the General Electric Company, and has prior executive experience with Phillips North America and the Morgan Stanley Private Equity Group.

Cole and his wife, Nancy Upton, have been honored by the New Canaan/Darien Magazine for their volunteer contributions in the community. Among their accomplishments, the Coles have served as volunteers on several trips with the Congregational Church, building and repairing housing in low-income areas.
