NEW CANAAN — Officer Geoffrey Lambert has been named the newest school resource officer at New Canaan High School.

In a statement, Police Chief Leon Krolikowski said Lambert was chosen by members of the police department and staff members at the high school. Lambert begins his new post Nov. 7.

“We are excited with Officer Lambert’s assignment and we are confident that he will build upon the great work of our previous three SROs,” Krolikowski said in his statement. “As the NCHS SRO, he will work closely with faculty and he will continue to build relationships with our school community, as he coaches and mentors all students.”

Lambert has worked with the New Canaan Police Department for 27 years as a patrol officer, dispatcher, field-training officer/coordinator and child safety seat technician. He has received numerous awards and commendations over his career for his performance.

In addition, Lambert is a youth baseball coach and was a varsity baseball coach at the high school from 2011-13. He is a Marine Corps veteran and he and his wife, Beth, have three children.

Lambert’s assignment comes after the previous school resource officer, Jason Kim, was promoted to sergeant after 10 years with the department.
