New Canaan man charged after failing to appear in court

NEW CANAAN — Police arrested a 48-year-old New Canaan man after he failed to appear in court for charges of speeding with a suspended license.
On April 25 around 8:15 a.m., police took custody of Robert R. Israel at his Hillside Avenue home on an active warrant after he failed to appear in court on prior motor vehicle charges. On Jan. 3, 2015, Israel was charged with traveling unreasonably fast and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
Israel was brought to police headquarters where he was processed on charges of failing to appear in the second degree. He posted a $500 bond and was given a May 8 court date.
