NEW CANAAN — Police arrested a 19-year-old New Canaan man after he allegedly stole a fidget cube from a gas station.
On June 11 around 3:15 a.m., Andrew White took a $5 fidget cube — not to be confused with a fidget spinner — from the Mobil Station on South Avenue. Police were called and subsequently identified White as the suspect. Officers found White at his East Maple Street home where they issued him a misdemeanor summons for larceny in the sixth degree. White was also charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a glass pipe that White said he owned.
White was released on a promise to appear in court on June 23. Officers were able to return the stolen fidget cube to the gas station.
Thomas Chini, 19, of Smith Ridge Road in New Canaan, was with White at the Mobil Station and at his home when police arrived. Officers found a bag of marijuana on Chini, as well as rolling papers, and he was issued an infraction for possession of marijuana.
