NEW CANAAN — A 27-year-old New Canaan man was charged with driving under the influence after he allegedly flipped his car and left the scene.
On April 23 around 3:20 a.m., New Canaan police responded to a report of an unoccupied car that was rolled over on West Road near Lost District Road. Police found the driver, Bryson Wilson, in the 1800 block of Ponus Ridge Road, where he was walking to his home on Four Winds Lane in New Canaan.
When officers spoke to Wilson, they smelled alcohol on his breath. Based on the damage done to his car, Wilson was transported to Norwalk Hospital for an evaluation.
A subsequent investigation and search warrant revealed Wilson’s blood alcohol content was .2 at the time of the accident, more than twice the legal limit of .08. A warrant was placed for his arrest. On June 20 around 5:35 p.m., Wilson turned himself in to New Canaan police on charges of driving under the influence, failure to drive right and evading responsibility. He posted a $10,00 bond and was given a court date of June 30.
