New Canaan girls volleyball team turned away by Greenwich

The New Canaan girls volleyball team fell to Greenwich 3-0 (25-11, 25-6, 25-6) on Monday at home against Greenwich.

For the Rams, Joanna Baran recorded a trio of kills, and Sarah Brindisi racked up five assists and a pair of digs.

Greenwich's Mirei Kato had eight aces and nine kills, heather Desino notched 11 aces, four kills and two blocks and Xanthi Katsigiannis had 20 assists.

The Rams fell to 0-2, while the Cardinals improved to 2-0.

New Canaan will look to notch its first win on Wednesday at home against Staples at 5:30 p.m.

Greenwich puts its perfect record on the line at home against New York's JFK Catholic-Somers at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
