The New Canaan girls' tennis team picked up a pair of wins last week to improve its record to 4-0.

On Thursday, April 14, the Rams picked up a 5-2 road victory against cross-town rival Darien. At No. 1 singles, New Canaan's Kate Mannelly picked up a 6-2, 6-1 win over Lonneke Eenkema Vandijk. At No. 2 singles, Caitlin Gallagher defeated Jenna Murray 6-0, 6-0.

At No. 1 doubles, New Canaan's tandem of Kimmy Glerum and Sara Greene defeated Darien's Amanda Brodsky and Kyle McCoy by a score of 6-3, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, Amanda Merjian and Kristin Laub gave the Rams a win by upending Kate Morant and Ellie Reigel by a score of 6-2, 6-2. At No. 3 doubles, New Canaan's Phoebe Wilks and Kate Howard defeated Libby Feingold and Caroline McGuire by a score of 6-2, 6-2.

Darien (4-1) managed to pull out a pair of wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles. At No. 3 singles, Sophie Doering defeated Jensen Lee by a score of 6-1, 6-0. In the most competitive match of the day, Darien's Sara Alptekin defeated New Canaan's Jackie Millisits by a score of 6-4, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

At No. 2 singles, Gallagher defeated Trinity Catholic's Lauren Janik by a score of 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 singles, Lee defeated Sarah Rivera by the same margin of 6-0, 6-0. At No. 4 singles, Kate Howard picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Olivia DiTomasso.

At No. 2 doubles, Merijian and Laub defeated Molly Sugrne and Janelle Jordan by a score of 6-1, 6-0. At No. 3 doubles, New Canaan's tandem of Emily Brand and Emily Greene scored a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Malisla Carpanzano and Kenya Carpenter.

In the most competitive match of the day, Trinity (0-4) scored its only victory when Rachel Horton defeated Mannelly by a score of 6-4, 6-4 at the top singles spot.
