Today promises a sunny, somewhat cooler start to the work week in southwestern Connecticut -- and it may well be the nicest day, too.
The National Weather Service says the daytime high temperature will rise to the upper-70s, with a west wind 8 to 14 mph.
Tonight should be mostly clear, with the temperature dipping to a low in the mid-50s.
Tomorrow also should be sunny with the high temperature in the upper-70s -- and breezy conditions with gusts as high as 20 mph. Nighttime brings a 20 percent chance of showers as clouds move in and the temperature registers a low in the low-60s.
On Wednesday, there is a 50-50 chance of showers and possible thunderstorms, with the high temperature in the upper-50s. There is a 60 percent chance of precipitation Wednesday night and the temperature will dip to a low in the upper-60s.
Thursday, more showers and possible storms remain likely, with odds of about 60 percent, the NWS says. Skies will be cloudy and the daytime high temperature will be about 80 degrees. Scattered showers remain possible at night -- 50 percent chance of precipitation -- with a low temperature about 70 degrees.
The outlook for Friday, according to the weather service, is possible showers and temperatures about 80 degrees.
