Rain, which could be heavy at times, is expected to fall periodically today across southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.
The daytime high temperature will rise to the low-50s, with a south wind 7 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent, according to the weather service, with new precipitation amounts between three-quarters and 1 inch possible.
Showers are also expected tonight, mainly before 9 p.m., with patchy fog possible. The temperature will dip to a low in the low-30s, with a light and variable wind becoming north 6 to 11 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
Tomorrow, there is a 30 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Otherwise, the day is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 50 degrees, the NWS says. At night, there is a 20 percent chance of showers before 10 p.m., with a low temperature about 30 degrees.
Thursday should be partly sunny, with a high temperature about 40 degrees. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-20s.
Friday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-40s. Night skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 30 degrees.
The outlook for Saturday, according to the weather service, is for possible rain and snow, with temperatures in the 40s.
