More sunny weather is in store today for southwestern Connecticut, but the weekend outlook is not as bright.
After patchy fog lifts where it settled overnight in parts of the region, today's skies will be mostly sunny and temperatures will reach a daytime high in the upper-70s. There will be a south wind 5 to 9 mph.
Tonight will be mostly cloudy, and fog will settle again in parts of the area. The temperature will register a low in the mid-50s, with a south wind 3 to 6 mph.
Saturday, there may be light showers after noon, with cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid-70s. By nighttimes there is a 90 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with temperatures dipping to about 60 degrees.
On Sunday, more rain is likely -- odds are about 60 percent in the morning -- but skies are expected to gradually clear with a high temperature in the mid-60s. Night skies will be partly cloudy with a low temperature about 50 degrees.
Monday should be sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-60s. Nighttime will be clear with a low temperature of 50 degrees.
The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, is sunny and temperatures in the 60s.
