Today promises to be mostly sunny in southwestern Connecticut, but precipitation -- possibly even light snow -- is on the way, according to the National Weather Service.

Today's high temperature will rise to the low-50s with a northwest wind between 7 and 9 mph.

Tonight, rain is likely late and into early tomorrow with a low temperature in the mid-30s -- conditions that could produce light snow in some places, the NWS says.

Rain continues tomorrow morning until about 11 a.m. and the high temperature will be in the low-40s. There will be an east wind between 9 and 14 mph. There is a slight chance of rain tomorrow night before 10 p.m. and temperatures will fall to the low-30s.

On Sunday, there is a chance of rain after noon. Otherwise skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-50s. Sunday night, there is a chance of rain, mainly before midnight and the temperature will hit the low-40s.

The outlook for Monday is mostly sunny, according to the weather service, with a high temperature of nearly 60 degrees.
