After early-morning rain clears from the region today, skies across southwestern Connecticut will be mostly sunny the rest of the day, according to the National Weather Service.

The daytime high temperature will rise to the upper-80s, but there remains a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout the day. There will be a southwest wind from 6 to 9 mph.

There remains a chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, mainly after 10 p.m., as the temperature dips to the low-70s.

Tomorrow, occasional showers and thunderstorms are more likely, and the NWS warns some afternoon storms could be severe. The high temperature tomorrow will be in the mid-80s under mostly cloudy skies. The chance of scattered remains in the forecast for tomorrow night as the temperature hit a low of about 70 degrees.

On Monday, there is expected to be patchy fog before 8 a.m., later clearing to sunny skies and temperatures rising to about 90 degrees. Monday night should be mostly clear with temperatures in the low-70s.

The outlook for Tuesday, the weather service says, is mostly sunny with temperatures in the mid-90s.
