Suddenly, summer.

At least that's what it will feel like in southwestern Connecticut as a mini heat wave engulfs the region over the next few days.

The National Weather Service says skies will be sunny, and the daytime high temperature will rise to the mid-80s. There will be a west wind, then becoming southwest 5 to 9 mph.

Tonight will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-60s. and a southwest wind around 5 mph.

Tomorrow also will be sunny -- and hotter -- with a high temperature about 90 degrees. Nighttime will be mostly clear with a low temperature in the mid-60s and a southwest wind 6 to 11 mph.

Saturday should be sunny as well, with a high temperature in the mid-80s. Clouds move in at night, as the temperature dips to a low in the mid-60s.

Sunday will be mostly sunny and a little cooler, with temperatures topping off at about 80 degrees. Showers and thunderstorms are possible Sunday night, with a low temperature about 60 degrees. Chance of nighttime precipitation is 60 percent.

The outlook for Monday, according to the weather service, is showers, possible storms and temperatures in the 70s.
