Snow. It's been almost entirely missing from weather forecasts for southwestern Connecticut since a freak snowy nor'easter socked the region last Halloween weekend.

This weekend, however, snow is back.

The National Weather Service predicts snow will start falling late tonight and continue into tomorrow morning, leaving behind an accumulation of several inches.

Today, meanwhile, should be sunny, with a high temperature near 46 degrees. There will be a west wind between 5 and 11 mph.

The snow is expected to start falling after 10 p.m. tonight, as the low temperature falls to the mid-30s. There will be a north wind between 3 and 6 mph, the NWS says.

Snow should keep falling through tomorrow morning before tapering off shortly after noontime, with total accumulation of from 2 to 4 inches. The temperature will rise to a high in the upper-30s, with a blustery north wind between 5 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

Tomorrow night there is a slight chance of snow showers, under partly cloudy, with a low temperature dropping to around 20 degrees.

On Sunday, there also will be a slight chance of snow showers after noon. Skies will be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the low-30s.

The outlook for Monday, the weather service predicts, is sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-30s.
