The rain and clouds of yesterday will clear out of southwestern Connecticut today, but the National Weather Service says wind gusts will remain strong and blustery.

Skies will be sunny, with a daytime high temperature reaching the mid-40s. A west wind of 11 to 14 mph will increase later in the day to between 21 and 24 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph.

Tonight will be mostly clear, with a low temperature around 24 degrees. There will be a northwest wind between 15 and 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph, the NWS says.

Tomorrow, clouds return, with a high temperature in the upper-30s. There is a slight chance of showers overnight tomorrow, with the temperature falling to the low-30s.

On Friday, there is still a chance of showers under cloudy skies and temperatures rising to the upper-40s. Showers remain a possibility overnight and the low temperature should be in the mid-30s.

The outlook for Saturday, New Year's Eve, is for mostly cloudy skies with a chance of showers and a high temperature in the mid-40s, the weather service predicts.
