New Canaan forecast: Showers today, storm tomorrow

Fog blanketing southwestern Connecticut early this morning is expected to clear by about 10 a.m., but the rest of the day will be mostly overcast -- possibly triggering showers later today and stormy conditions tomorrow.
The National Weather Service says that thunderstorms are also possible later today, as the temperature rises to a high of about 70 degrees. There will be a south wind between 6 and 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
The likelihood of showers and thunderstorms increases tonight, as patchy fog will again settle over the region. The temperature will decline to the low-50s, with a north wind between 5 and 9 mph.
Tomorrow, rain is likely as the temperature rises to a high only in the upper-50s, with a north wind between 10 and 14 mph.
By tomorrow night, rain could be heavy at times, and winds could pick up to between 21 and 25 mph. The overnight low temperature will be in the high-40s, the NWS says.
On Monday, showers and fog are likely again, mainly before noon. The rest of the day should be cloudy, with a high temperature in the upper-50s. There remains a chance of showers Monday night, with a low temperature of about 40 degrees.
The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, is for cloudy skies and possible showers in the afternoon, with the temperature rising to the upper-50s.
