The Mother's Day forecast is for partly sunny daytime skies today across southwestern Connecticut, with a chance of showers this evening.
The National Weather Service says the temperature will rise to a high in the upper-70s, with a west wind between 5 and 11 mph.
There is a chance of showers overnight -- rated about 30 percent by the NWS -- with the temperature dipping to a low in the upper-50s. There will be a southwest wind between 6 and 9 mph.
There also is a chance of showers tomorrow afternoon, as skies cloud over and the temperature rises to a high about 70 degrees. Showers remain possible tomorrow night, and patches of fog are likely to settle across the region, the NWS says. The nighttime low temperature will be in the upper-50s.
On Tuesday, showers are likely -- and thunderstorms also are possible -- after 10 a.m. The day will be cloudy with a temperature rising to a high in the upper-60s. Unsettled conditions are also forecast for Tuesday night, with showers and thunderstorms possible. The low temperature will be in the upper-50s.
The outlook for Wednesday, the weather service predicts, is mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the upper-60s.
