Updated 12:30 pm, Monday, August 15, 2011
More rain today across southwestern Connecticut, following the downpours of yesterday, has triggered a flash flood warning for the region.
The National Weather Service says that occasional showers -- thunderstorms are also possible -- are a threat throughout the day and into nighttime. The daytime high temperature is expected to reach into the low-70s as clouds envelope the area all day.
The flash flood warning remains in effect this evening with more rain and thunderstorms possible, although the threat tapers off late tonight, the NWS says. The overnight temperature is expected to fall to the low-60s.
Tuesday starts with scattered showers and thunderstorms still possible, mainly before 4 p.m. Skies will be cloudy with a high temperature near 75 degrees. Clearing from the wet weather of the last few days is expected to start Tuesday night with a low temperature of 64 degrees.
Wednesday will be sunny, with a high near 78 degrees. Clouds move in Wednesday night with a low around 66.
Thursday should be mostly sunny, the weather service predicts, with a high near 78 degrees.
