April is set to ramp up its showery reputation today, as the National Weather Service predicts rain -- heavy at times -- will fall periodically throughout the day.
The expected rain has prompted the NWS to issue a coastal flood warning in southwestern Connecticut during the high-tide cycles this morning and this afternoon.
The daytime high temperature will rise to the mid-40s, with an east wind 14 to 22 mph, gusting as high as 34 mph. Chance of daytime precipitation is 100, the NWS says.
Rain is also likely tonight, mainly before 11 p.m., as the temperature dips to a low in the upper-30s. There will be a north wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of nighttime precipitation is 60 percent.
Tomorrow should be partly sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-50s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature around 40 degrees.
Sunday should be sunny, with a high temperature in the mid-50s. Night skies will be mostly clear with a low temperature in the mid-30s.
Monday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 60 degrees. Monday night, however, will be cloudy, with a low temperature in the mid-40s.
The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, is partly sunny and temperatures in the 60s.
