New Canaan forecast: A warm, sunny Saturday

A warm and sunny day is forecast today for southwestern Connecticut.

The National Weather Service says that under those bright skies the daytime high temperature will rise to the upper-70s, with a west between 11 and 14 mph.

Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low temperature in the upper-50s and a west wind between 6 and 10 mph.

Tomorrow -- Mother's Day -- should be partly sunny, although there is a slight chance of showers after noon. The temperature should rise to the mid-70s and there will be a southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph, the NWS says. Tomorrow night, heavier clouds moves in and there is a greater chance of showers as the temperature dips to the upper-50s.

On Monday, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms under cloudy skies as the temperature registers in the upper-60s. There is more precipitation possible Monday night with a low temperature in the mid-50s.

The outlook for Tuesday, the weather service predicts, is cloudy, chance of showers and temperatures in the mid-60s.
