Today should live up to the "sun" in its name as mostly sunny skies should bless southwestern Connecticut, according to the National Weather Service.

The daytime high temperature will be about 80 degrees with a southeast wind around 9 mph.

Tonight, however, clouds move in as the temperature dips to the mid-60s. There will be a south wind around 6 mph.

Tomorrow there is a slight chance of showers between 9 a.m. and noon, with the added potential for thunderstorms after noon. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature about 80 degrees. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow night with a low temperature in the upper-60s.

On Tuesday, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3 p.m. Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high temperature in the low-80s. Nighttime will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature in the low-60s.

Wednesday should be sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-70s. Skies will be mostly clear at night, with a low temperature about 60 degrees.

The outlook for Thursday, the weather service predicts, is sunny and temperatures about 80 degrees.
