New Canaan forecast: A gray start to weekend, better later

Scattered showers early this morning, and the chance of more rain later this afternoon, put a damper on the first day of the weekend.
Tomorrow, the National Weather Service promises, looks brighter.
This first day of the weekend, however, will be mostly cloudy in southwestern Connecticut with temperatures rising to a high of about 80s degrees. After noontime, there is a 30 percent chance of showers -- and possible thunderstorms -- the NWS says.
Tonight, there is a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Skies will be partly cloudy, with a low temperature about 60 degrees.
Tomorrow, however, is expected to be Sunday with a high temperature rising to about 80 degrees. Tomorrow night should be mostly sunny, with the temperature dipping to a low in the mid-50s.
Monday should be sunny, with a high temperature in the upper-70s. Nighttime will be mostly clear, with a low temperature i the upper-50s.
The outlook for Tuesday, according to the weather service, will be sunny and temperatures near 80 degrees.
