New Canaan woke up to an icy mess Friday morning, after getting the fourth most amount of snow in Fairfield County -- 15.3 inches, according to the National Weather Service. Darien topped the list with 16.8.

Town workers are removing several mounds of snow from the downtown area in New Canaan.

New Canaan Public Schools, New Canaan Country School and St. Luke's School are all closed Friday.

The district's administrative offices, Town Hall, New Canaan Library and New Canaan YMCA are open.

Metro-North is operating on a Saturday schedule.

Friday's weather is mostly sunny with temperatures in the 30s and wind gusts as high as 39 mph, the National Weather Service said.

Snow is likely to fall again on Saturday. The National Weather Service is forecasting 1 to 3 inches more snow for the area.
