Michael Victor, First County Bank's New Canaan branch manager and assistant vice president, has been promoted to regional manager responsible for seven of the bank's branches in lower Fairfield County.

In addition, Assistant Branch Manager Aitza Cabrera was promoted to branch manager of the New Canaan office.

Victor, now based at the 1006 Boston Post Road branch in Darien, is responsible for day-to-day operations of the branch and has supervisory responsibilities for New Canaan, Greenwich and four Stamford branches.

"At First County Bank, we value experience and prefer to promote from within. And for these two professionals, we have seen tremendous growth in responsibilities and results at our New Canaan branch and beyond," said Katherine Harris, president and chief operating officer of First County Bank.

"Mike Victor has been the bedrock for our New Canaan branch for many years and we knew the time was right for his promotion. He's also been very involved in directing the bank's financial literacy program, where the bank hosts presentations and discussions for the public based on the FDIC's Money Smart for Adults instructional curriculum," Harris said. "He's a real asset to the bank and we look forward to his continued success." Since 2007, Victor held the position of branch manager of First County Bank's New Canaan branch. From 2004 to 2007, Victor was branch manager of 660 Main St., one of the bank's three Norwalk branches. He has been in the financial services business since 1979.

Cabrera held the title of assistant branch manager of the New Canaan office since 2007. She joined First County Bank in 2001 as a customer service representative and moved through the ranks to become a teller supervisor in the training department before becoming an assistant branch manager. Prior to joining First County Bank, she worked at another local bank for one year.

First County Bank, headquartered in Stamford for more than 160 years, is an independent mutual community bank with 15 branches in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk and Westport offering deposit products, mortgages, trust and investment services, business banking services and online banking. It has more than 220 employees and assets in excess of $1.3 billion.
