New Canaan Public Schools have reopened their campuses following a report of a suspicious man in Ridgefield.
The district sent the following email to parents at 11:28 a.m.:
We have been notified from the Ridgefield Police their investigation has been cleared and the schools are no longer in lock down. The closed campus in New Canaan has now been lifted.
In an earlier statement, Superintendent Mary Kolek said New Canaan Police informed them of the Ridgefield investigation, and as a precaution, New Canaan Schools kept the students inside.
" As was already planned for today, the police are present on and around campus and we have reviewed safety procedures with our staff. We will keep you updated," she said in a statement.
