On Saturday morning, the New Canaan Red seventh grade football team took on archrival Darien and was defeated by a score of 28-7.

New Canaan went right to work on its first possession, moving the ball down to Darien's 10-yard line on the strength of runs by Justin Greco and Owen Shin. On the next play, quarterback Logan Otis scrambled around the left side and ran untouched for a touchdown. Cole Kammerrer split the uprights on the point after for a 7-0 lead.

The New Canaan defense played well and held Darien on the next series.

The New Canaan offense started another drive when the game's momentum suddenly shifted the other way, as Darien intercepted the ball and ran 65 yards for a touchdown to tie the game 7-7 at halftime.

Led by Kyle Karr and Grant Morse, the New Canaan defense continued to hold Darien's offense. Two-way lineman Seamus O'Hora recovered a Darien fumble, for his second in as many games.

Greco, who can play multiple positions, continued to run the ball deep in Darien's territory and broke loose on a fabulous 55-yard sprint in the second half.
