A Norwalk woman is facing multiple charges after police said she planned to commit a burglary at a New Canaan home.

Marjorie C. Swanke, 41, of 20 Avenue C, was arrested Feb. 24 on charges of first-degree attempted larceny and second-degree attempted burglary.

Police learned of Swanke's alleged plan and said she had solicited at least one person to assist her, Chief Leon Krolikowski said. Following an investigation, police were able to stop the crimes before they occurred, he said in a press release.

Krowlikowski said police learned of the plan after receiving an anonymous tip Friday night, Feb. 21.

She was held on $250,000 bond and was transported to Norwalk Superior Court Tuesday, Feb. 25, where her bond was lowered to $75,000.

Swanke is incarcerated at the York Correctional Center in Niantic. Her next court appearance is scheduled for March 18.
