NEW CANAAN — Police arrested a 52-year-old Ridgefield man for allegedly driving drunk down New Norwalk road.

On April 11 around midnight, an officer saw a car driving north cross the double yellow line and drive into the southbound lane. The officer stopped the car and smelled alcohol from the breath of the driver, James Robinson of Danbury Road. The Ridgefield man subsequently failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody on charges of failure to drive right and drunk driving.

Robinson refused a blood alcohol content test and posted bail of $300. He was given a court date of April 21.
