Police busted an underage drinking party on Weed Street where the mother of the arrested minor was found hiding in a closet.
Avery Underwood, 19, was charged with delivery of alcohol to minors and second-degree forgery. Her mother, Lori Underwood, 47, was issued an infraction for failing to halt possession of alcohol by a minor.
According to the report, police responded to a noise complaint at 145 Weed St. on Aug. 22 at 11:16 p.m.
When they arrived, officers said they saw several young people running away from the property and getting into vehicles. According to the report, police also observed several cans and bottles of beer on the lawn, driveway and in the backyard. Police believe more than 60 youths were at the party; they questioned nine 19-year-olds in addition to Avery Underwood.
Avery Underwood told police she asked her mother to hide to prevent her from getting into trouble.
Police charged Avery Underwood with second-degree forgery because, according to the report, she used a fake ID to purchase the alcohol. Police found and confiscated 30 beers, a bottle of rum and wine. They also counted 85 empty beer cans and bottles. The other minors questioned were not charged.
