NEW CANAAN — Police arrested a Bridgeport man after he failed to appear for a court date for improperly-used license plates.

On April 10 around 12 p.m., Edilson Dasilveira, of James Street, turned himself in to New Canaan police for a warrant for failing to appear in the second degree. The 37-year-old Bridgeport resident was originally charged with improper use of marker plates after being pulled over and searched on Carter Street on Feb. 3.

Dasilveira was processed and issued a $495 bond. He was given a court date of April 21.
