NEW CANAAN — Train service at the New Canaan Metro North Station is back on schedule after a train condition caused delays during peak hours Tuesday morning.

A faulty yard switch, which allows the train to move from the rail yard to the station track, was reported around 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18 causing delays of up to 20 minutes, according Nancy Gamerman of the MTA Press Office. Substitute busing was implemented starting with the train departing at 8:18 a.m. from New Canaan Station.

As of the 10:58 a.m. train departing from Stamford to New Canaan, the track condition had been repaired and service is back on schedule, Gamerman said.

The evening commute is expected to be normal.
