Donations for the Friends of New Canaan Library's Book Sale will be accepted through Friday, March 15.

The sale takes place April 5-7. The semiannual sale of used books is the Friends' principal fundraising activity to support a variety programs, including Summer Reading in the Children's Room, art exhibits, film discussions and the Notes in MidWinter concerts. The book sale honors longtime volunteer and Friend of the Library John Randolph.

Gently used books, DVDs, videos and music CDs can be brought to the library during normal hours of operation.

VHS tapes, periodicals, text books and encyclopedias will not be accepted.

Pat Thatcher, the chairman of the book sale, also welcomes individuals wishing to volunteer their time to help in two-hour shifts. "We want to build a group of friends who enjoy books and each other's company."

To volunteer, call Laurie Iffland at 203-594-5003 or email liffland@newcanaanlibrary.org.
