The Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation has announced its eighth annual MMRF Race for Research: Tri-State 5K Walk/Run, held June 12 at New Canaan High School, was attended by more than 1,500 participants and raised $335,000 to accelerate the development of next-generation treatments for multiple myeloma, an incurable blood cancer. Donations continue to arrive and can still be made at the race website, www.themmrf.org/tristate5k.
The town of New Canaan stood together as a united front in support of the MMRF and to raise critical funds for the research of this rare cancer. More than 300 New Canaan residents raised funds and ran the 5K.
