The Congregational Church of New Canaan Youth Group headed to Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, Friday, Feb. 15, as part of the annual mission trip.

The group, made up of 148 high school students and 35 advisers, alumni, contractors and logistical staff, will spend their February vacation working on a shelter for women and children -- Hogar Posada La Victoria -- which serves those among the island's most neglected population. The group will rework the entire shelter campus so it can better used to minister to the women in residence and their children.

On Thursday, Feb. 14, parents held a send-off dinner at the church.
