A forum Monday, April 21, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. will address the progress of the natural gas project for New Canaan.

The event, sponsored by the League of Women Voters of New Canaan, will take place in the Adrian Lamb Room of the New Canaan Library, 151 Main St.

The panelists will be Mike Collins, of Yankee Gas; Howard Freeman, of the New Canaan Utilities Commission; Tucker Murphy, executive director of the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce; and First Selectman Robert Mallozzi.

The discussion will be moderated by Mark Robbins, principal of MHR Development LLC.

The panelists also will answer audience questions, if time allows.

The LWV's program co-chairwomen, Lael Kiesling and Anita Peters, already have posed questions to Collins to help him frame his presentation. They include how decisions will be made about routing gas lines to residents, how the cost of gas is determined, whether gas subscribers can switch back to oil and safety and health concerns.

Attendees also will be able to sign up directly with Yankee Gas online.

Light refreshments will be available at 6 p.m.

For information, email Kiesling at laelk@optonline.net or Peters at peters65@sbcglobal.net.
