The New Canaan Chapter of the National Charity League recently held its annual Mother-Daughter Tea.
The tea is a time-honored event that dates back to the original Charity League tea held in 1947 in California. This annual event continues today in every chapter across the country. The tea is designed to teach members about the tradition of a proper tea as well as self-assurance in social settings, good manners and respect.
This year the tea included a fashion show of clothing and accessories from the New Canaan-based store Caren Forbes on Main Street. Nine NCL daughters were the models for the event and included Annie Ludtke, Stephanie Benko, Isabelle Lawrence, Azadeh Amir-Aslani, Emily Chalon, Erika Jensen, Andrea Mullaney, Annie Conover and Page Jones. Professional make-up for the models was provided by Benefit on Elm Street and Salon KiKlo on Main Street created the hairstyles for the fashion show.
