New Canaan golf continued its hot start, routing St. Joseph 160-210 at the Country Club of New Canaan.

George Garrett led the way with a 39, Grant Mellinger and Weston Shanley carded 40s, Gunnar Granito added a 41 and Trevor Jones finished with 46.

For the Cadets, Jakob DeBroff hit a 45, Tommy Flynn shot 53, Matt Lally had a 55 and Chris Raccuia added 57.

MAY 4

The Rams stayed undefeated, edging Ridgefield 155-164 at the Silver Spring Country Club.

George Garrett had a match-low 37 for the Rams, Grant Mellinger was just behind with 38, Trevor Jones and Weston Shanley both had 40 and Gunnar Granito shot a 41.

Ridgefield’s Oliver Frossell led the Tigers with a 38, Dallas Nylen and Connor Looney shot 41, Matt Bornstein contributed a 44 while Colin Rynne hit 45.

MAY 8

In a tri-match, New Canaan breezed by Norwalk schools—Norwalk High and Brien McMahon—with an impressive 158.

The Rams’ Trevor Jones shot a one-over 36, Weston Shanley and Grant Mellinger stayed consistent with 40s, Gunnar Granito and Ryan Mennitt finished out New Canaan’s round with 42 each.

Norwalk finished second in the match with 215. Barry Bellardinelli shot 51, John Hogan had a 53, Derek Engel added a 54, Ryan Byrne 57 and Anthony Africano hit a 59.

Brien McMahon shot 234 in the match. Jake Berkowitz had a 52, Scooter Snedaker added a 57, Seixas Aldrich finished with 61, Derek Lue 64 and Peter Cole 70.

For the first time this season, New Canaan didn’t come away with the victory—tying Staples at 155 at the Longshore Golf Course.

George Garrett led the way for the Rams with a one-over 36, Grant Mellinger and Gunnar Granito both shot 39 while Weston Shanley added a 41 and Trevor Jones chipped in a 43.

For the Wreckers (9-0-1) Logan Horowitz and Tristan Hochman starred with 37s, Peter Taets added 40 while Colin Cusa and Noah Lomnitz finished with 41 apiece.
