At the fourth annual Connecticut High School Musical Theater Awards, held this year at the Palace Theater in Waterbury, New Canaan High School drama students won prizes.

Michael DeMattia, student producer, and Lizzie Emond, production stage manager, were each given an "Outstanding Student Achievement Award" for their work in the NCHS winter musical "Sweet Charity."

At the same event, Kevin Gleason, technical director for the NCHS theatre program, was the winner in the category of "Outstanding Lighting Design" for the production. New Canaan High school's production of "Sweet Charity" was nominated for a total of 13 awards this year.
